International House - Fragments, Ashford
Client
SEEDA
StudioFractal were invited to create an exterior light installation reinventing the nighttime presence of International House. Drawing upon the architectural details of this landmark office building and engaging a transformational colour pallet, Fragments has been designed to dematerialise the form of the building, reducing it to a rhythm of vertical gestures with colours and activity celebrating seasonal change.
The scheme is designed to have a minimal daytime impact and comprises adapted colour changing LED fittings within a custom-designed cable trunking system. An abstract display of colour changing shards animates the building from dusk through to midnight - with bursts of increased activity on the hour.
