Merchant Square, Paddington

Following the successful completion of the first two buildings, StudioFractal continues its involvement in the next phase of this ambitious mixed-use development in central London. Upon completion, this 11 acre Paddington estate will comprise high-quality commercial, retail, hotel and residential buildings, all set within a carefully landscaped public realm.

A lighting masterplan was developed to allow each building to present a different character within the Merchant Square community. Lighting has been carefully integrated within buildings and landscaping, linking internal and external spaces and emphasising the high-quality materials, textures and forms. The balance of light and tone provides a warmly welcoming night-time presence, currently occupied by nearly 10,000 workers and residents.
